Registration Chalutzim (Pioneers) - Entering KindergartenThis special Bridge-K program will combine specialty class activities with outdoor explorations and field trips. Jewish heritage and values will be developed through creative and fun hands-on education. Chalutzim will join all the campers in the mornings for Kumsitz and opening songs. Then they will enjoy their own group activities and specialty classes where Bridge-K campers will be provided with a safe and comfortable space for exploration, developing social skills, and building community. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Chalutzim will participate on field trips with the entire camp unless the trip is deemed not age appropriate-in that case they will go on another field-trip that day. Kaitanim (Campers) - Entering 1st - 3rd gradesCamp memories in the heart of Berkeley? Yes! The urban setting of the JCC is transformed into a special home base for our campers. Campers will begin the day together strengthening their group identity and giving parents a chance to meet and know camp staff, as camp gets off to a rousing start when everyone joins in singing and skits at Kumsitz. Then campers enjoy alternating times for specialty classes like: Jewish arts and crafts, drama, Jewish music, sports, woodworking, and capoiera. At the end of the day, campers will join together again to share a little about what they've learned, sing, and say goodbye. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be Outdoor Adventure Days with scheduled activities that include swimming at Lake Anza and hiking at Tilden Park. Harpatkaanim (adventurers) - Entering 4th - 6th gradesIt is not a class, it's an experience! Step out of the classroom into stories that come to life! Campers will go on fantastic journeys where they will meet buried treasures. The adventure experience will explore Jewish, as well as non-Jewish characters as it takes the campers into the heart of their imagination, and community. The tuition is slightly higher for this age group to cover costs of extra field-trips.
